Bribie Island State School has a number of rules and polices that allow our school to provide a supportive and safe environment for our students and staff.  In this section you can find several different documents outlining expectations at our school.

Attendance

Bribie Island State School is committed to promoting the key message of the Queensland State-wide initiative of Every Day Counts.

We believe it is important that the Bribie Island State School Community consisting of students, parents/carers and staff have a shared understanding of the important of attending school every day.

Our target in improving and maintaining attendance is 95% average attendance rate for students across all year levels.

For GENERAL ABSENCES, the day your child is away, please phone the school Absence Line on (07) 3400 2366 and leave a message on the absence line. This is the most efficient method.

At 8:50 teachers mark their rolls. After this time parents will be notified via a text message if your child is absent from school.

Students ARRIVING LATE (AFTER 8:50AM BELL) need to sign in at the office and obtain a late slip to give to their teacher. Parents of students who do not report to the office for a late note will also receive a message of absence. Please ensure to send your child/children to the office if is past 8:50am on your arrival to school. 9am is prime learning time, so try and give your child every opportunity to maximise their learning time by arriving before this time. All students should be in class by 8.50am for roll marking.

Behaviour

Bribie Island State School's provides the structure and clear guidelines required to encourage a positive school tone and a supportive school environment.

We put the plan in place to ensure that all members of our school community are safe and have the potential to develop as lifelong learners.  Further, our school community has identified the following school rules to teach and promote our high standards of responsible behaviour.

In each class, a fortnightly behaviour focus is shared with students ensuring a uniform school rule message is maintained through

  • Being Respectful
  • Being an Active Learner
  • Being Safe.

Uniform

The Bribie Island State School dress code consists of an agreed standard and uniform that students' wear when attending or representing their school; travelling to and  from school; and engaging in school activities out of school hours.

The P & C of Bribie Island State School endorses the student dress code for Bribie Island State School because it believes that a student dress code promotes the objectives of Education. In particular, the P & C of Bribie Island State School supports the intention of a student dress code in providing a safe and supportive teaching and learning environment.

Details of uniform requirements can be found in the Parent Information Handbook under Enrolments.
